Introducing our new line of drinks named for the animals that have been pulling our weight since day 1!

That’s right folks, we have named some of our favorite drinks after some of our favorite mules!

The Sarah

1.5 oz. Roman Candy Vanilla Rum
1/2 oz. Orange juice
Ginger beer

Combine rum and orange juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into a cocktail glass over ice and top off with ginger beer. Garnish with a twist of lime.

The Ada

1.5 oz. Roman Candy Strawberry rum
1/4 oz. lime juice
Ginger beer

Combine rum and lime juice in a shaker with ice, shake and pour into copper mug, and top off with ginger beer. Garnish with a twist of lime.

The Rosie

2 oz. Pineapple juice
1 oz. Orange juice
1 oz. Strawberry Roman Candy Rum
Splash of grenadine

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Pour into cocktail glass over ice.

The Patsy

1.5 oz. Chocolate Roman Candy Rum
1/2 oz. Pineapple juice
Ginger beer

Combine rum and pineapple juice in a shaker with ice, shake and pour into a copper mug. Top off with ginger beer and garnish with a twist of lime.

The King

1.5 oz. Chocolate Rum
1/2 oz. Cranberry juice
Ginger beer

Combine rum and cranberry juice in a shaker with ice, shake and pour into a copper mug. Top off with ginger beer and garnish with a twist of lime.

 

 

Here are some outstanding, delicious cocktails that we’ve put together, and a few we’ve gotten from some of the best bartenders around town. We hope you enjoy them!

Roman Candy Rum Strawberry
Strawberry is one of the most difficult flavors to mix and achieve the perfect flavor, especially in rum. But…we did it!

Strawberry Hurricane

1 oz Roman Candy Rum Strawberry
1 oz dark rum
.5 oz lemon juice
1 oz orange juice
1 oz strawberry hibiscus passionfruit syrup
Splash cherry grenadine

Mix all ingredients together in a shaker, shake and pour over ice.

Election Day Punch (single serving)

This one will definitely turn you into a politician….one of these…and you’ll promise everybody….everything.
1 part soda water
2 parts Brandy
1 part Roman Candy Strawberry Rum
1 part Bourbon
Juice of One Orange
¼ Large Lemon
Raspberries or blueberries

Mix all ingredients in a large punch bowl. Keep it chilled!

Centennial Toast Punch

We designed this one around the 100 year anniversary of the Roman Chewing Candy. Does well as punch, too! Outstanding as a Martini as well.
2 oz. Lemonade
1 oz. Roman Candy Strawberry Rum
1 oz. Rose Champagne

As a cocktail / Martini:
Mix Rum and Lemonade in a shaker with ice. Shake and pour into cocktail glass with ice, or without for a Martini. Top off with Champagne. Garnish with strawberry fruit (optional).
We had this recipe made, and a couple sent us a message on our website that they made it and used it as the punch for their wedding! Everyone loved it!

As a punch for large party or quantities:
1 part lemonade (refrigerated)
1 part Roman Candy Strawberry Rum
1part Rose Champagne (refrigerated)
1 cup frozen strawberries
Mix lemonade and rum together into a large punch bowl stirring gently, then add champagne and fruit. Serve in individual cocktail glass.

Summer Love

2 oz Roman Candy Strawberry
2-4 Muddled watermelon chunks
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup

Muddle watermelon with rum in shaker. Add rest of ingredients and ice. Shake and strain well into a martini glass. Garnish with watermelon slice.

Red Rose

Our good friend, Rose at Camellia Café in Abita Springs designed this cocktail. Easy to make, very good, and great for parties!

Roman Candy Strawberry Rum
Pineapple Juice
Orange Juice
Cherry Juice

Add equal parts of Roman Candy Strawberry Rum, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and cherry Juice (not Grenadine) into a glass over ice. Stir and serve.

Sidewalk Side

This cocktail is the perfect addition to any Mardi Gras festivity, be it a ball a float party, or while catching some beads on the sidewalk side!

1 oz. Roman Candy Rum Strawberry
2 oz. Fest Blaze (Southern Peach Ginger Ale)
1 oz. Club soda
Splash of lime juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail glass, or a large thermos if your headed out to the parade route, with ice and stir. Enjoy!

Roman Candy Rum Vanilla
The Silver award winner at WSWA in Las Vegas 2014. A sweet, delectable mix of the vanilla flavored taffy, and rum; and it’s smooth going down.

Fields of Rome

2 oz Vanilla Roman Candy Rum
.5 oz lemon juice
.75 oz lavender honey syrup
Dash lavender bitters

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail glass and stir, add ice last!

Roman Candy Storm

1 oz. fresh Lime Juice
1 ½ oz Roman Candy Vanilla Rum
Ginger beer (Non Alcoholic)

Mix Rum and Lime Juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into cocktail glass. Top off with Ginger beer. Garnish with a lime twist.

Roman Dreamy Rumsicle

1 ½ Oz.Vanilla Rum
Orange juice

Pour Rum and Orange juice into a cocktail glass over ice. Stir, and enjoy. Simple, and great on hot summer days by the pool.

Hemingway In the Keys

2 oz Roman Candy Vanilla Rum
1 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup

Combine ingredients in shaker. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Lime wedge for garnish

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

2 oz Roman Candy Vanilla Rum
2 oz Pineapple juice
Squeeze lemon juice
Splash grenadine

Combine all ingredients except grenadine into shaker. Shake gently and strain into martini glass. Add splash of grenadine to drink and serve.

Uptown Girl

This drink is extremely refreshing on a hot summer day!

1 oz. Roman Candy Rum Vanilla
1 oz. St. Germain Liqueur
2 oz. Simply Limeade (pulp free)
1 oz. Club Soda

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail glass with ice and stir.

Roman Candy Rum Chocolate
The 2014 Gold medal winner at WSWA in the flavored rums division, it was also the first ever chocolate flavored rum! It wowed the judges, patrons, vendors and everyone else who tasted it.

Donkey Kong

1.5 oz Chocolate Roman Candy Rum
.5 oz Amaretto
1 oz banana syrup
Splash of half n half

Mix all ingredients together in a shaker with ice.  Shake and pour into a cocktail glass over ice.

Valencia Sunrise

2 oz coconut milk
2 oz orange juice
1 oz Chocolate Roman Candy Rum

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Serve over ice with a straw, and garnish with a slice of orange.

Roman Candy Cajun Coffee

3 parts Cafe du Monde or other local roast coffee with chicory
1 part heavy whipping cream
1 oz Roman Candy Chocolate Rum
Pure Louisiana Cane Sugar to taste

Andy’s Mint (from the Hyatt Regency)

1 1/4oz. Roman Candy Chocolate Rum
½ oz. Half & Half
Dash or two of Miletti or Godiva chocolate Liqueur
Just a dash of the Green Crème d’Menthe
Sprig of mint
Add the Crème d’Menthe, rum and half and half in a shaker with ice. Shake, and pour into the martini glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint on top.

The Colin Bennett – our version of the Manhattan

2 Oz. Roman candy Chocolate Rum
1 Oz. Sweet Vermouth
2-3 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Mix the rum, Vermouth and bitters, shake and serve either over ice or in a chilled Martini glass. Outstanding!

The Aztec

2 oz Roman Candy Chocolate Rum
1 oz Kahlua
1 oz Orchata

Shake and strain into a martini glass, or serve over ice as a cocktail. Dust with cinnamon, and serve.

Almond Joy

1 oz Roman Candy Chocolate
1 oz Malibu Rum
.5 oz Amaretto
Splash coconut milk or cream.

Combine ingredients over ice, stir and serve.

Roman Candy Rum Chocolate Martini
We had to come up with one…and it is outstanding. Everyone that’s tried this one just raves over it.

1 1/2 Oz. Chocolate Rum
1 Oz. Orchata or Rumchata Cinnamon Crème
Just a dash of Miletti or Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
Ground Cinnamon

Add all ingredients into a shaker, with ice. Shake and pour into a chilled martini glass or cocktail glass. Dust with Cinnamon and serve. Delicious!

Roman Candy Chocolate Rum Old Fashion
This is the owner’s favorite cocktail. It is amazing how 3 simple ingredients blend together to make this an excellent Old Fasioned.

Roman Candy Chocolate Rum
Aromatic Bitters
Oange Bitters

In a Scotch glass, WITHOUT ICE, shake 2-3 dashes each of the bitters. Pour in about 2 oz. of Roman Candy Chocolate Rum. Now, introduce ice to cover the cocktail. Stir with a cocktail stirrer for about 30 seconds. It’s ready to serve. (Note: It’s important that this cocktail is mixed this way. Don’t mix it directly over the ice. The ice comes last.) Enjoy!
